We’re hiring a Communications Director

Chuckanut Builders is a Bellingham-based general contractor that specializes in custom, high-performance residential and commercial projects in Bellingham’s core neighborhoods. We are a certified B-Corporation and believe that businesses can, and should be, a force for good. We also believe that work ought to be fun. Since founding our business, we have strived to bring together a crew that is committed to sustainable building and who enjoy the challenge of helping our clients reduce their carbon footprint. Our hope is that our crew looks forward to coming to work (at least most days!) and that our employees can grow professionally within the business. On weekends and vacations, we’re often with family and friends, playing in the mountains, or on the water. Our excitement for these endeavors carries over into our professional lives and the work environment we have created together…and we’re looking for an individual who wants to join in this work with us.

The primary roles of the Communications Director are to ensure a consistent, professional, positive public image of Chuckanut Builders and to coordinate the sales process. The Communications Director is a key voice of the business with employees, clients, professional contacts, and the community at large. Chuckanut Builders’ well-established reputation in the community is vital to its success, and the Communications Director is foundational in maintaining that. Additionally, the director will collaborate with Project Managers, Site Leads, Administrative staff, field crew, and the CEO on various projects, staying abreast of potential projects, current projects and outreach opportunities. Community outreach includes identifying and responding to potential sponsorship opportunities with local non-profits, promoting and supporting subcontractors and suppliers, and finding ways to locally elevate green building.
