This lot, with its gorgeous views of Bellingham Bay, was the perfect spot for a young and growing family to build their dream home. The original mid-century house was carefully moved to a nearby site, where it now serves another family.

At the heart of the new home is a light-filled chef’s kitchen and great room. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms; downstairs, a guest suite offers space for extended family. A flexible office and bonus room add versatility, while the spacious garage supports an active lifestyle with plenty of storage and a home gym.

This house isn’t all about form, though. Function and durability were priorities from the start. Shou sugi ban siding and steel-framed details provide longevity with minimal maintenance. Triple-pane windows, continuous insulation, and near-Passive House air-sealing standards ensure comfort and quiet—even with the home’s close proximity to a busy thru street.

The Edgemoor home strikes a balance of modern design, sustainable building practices, and craftsmanship. We’re proud to have worked with such a stellar team (Graham Baba Architects, the Lisa Staton Interior Design team, Samish Cabinets, Project Landworks, and more!) to create a home built to last. Designed for the rhythms of cooking, parenting, entertaining, and rest—all while treading lightly on the land.
